KARKARA means “Punks / Slackers” in Tunisian.
Slackers because we all feel out of place in this society that gives us the feeling of going 240 km/h into a wall and we don’t want to go there. So if we’re going to crash into that wall it better off be a wall of amps, and if we can get high in the process it’s even better.
Getting high because KARKARA is an upbeat and high tempo psychedelic rock band with riffs like King Gizzard, melodies like Erkin Koray and a tempo like Squid. A deluge of uninterrupted psychedelism both trippy and hypnotic that transports you to a post-apocalyptic setting on the verge of implosion. Screaming amps, supercharged drums and deep voices mixing both sweet melancholy and desperate rage.
On stage, KARKARA manages to transcribe a hypnotic fury and reveals to the public a sound, an identity and an energy that grabs you in the guts instantly.
“wah wah” lovers, repetitive “boom boom kraut” enveloped in exotic sounds from the other side of the sea, trance is at the center of the project.

KARKARA, ça veut dire « Punks / Traînards » en Tunisien.
Traînards, car on se sent tous hors des clous de cette société qui nous donne l’impression de foncer à 240 km/h dans un mur et qu’on n’a pas envie d’y aller. Alors si c’est pour rentrer dans un mur, autant que ça soit dans un mur d’amplis et qu’on puisse planer au passage. Planer parce que KARKARA, c’est du rock psychédélique upbeat et high tempo avec des riffs à la King Gizzard, des mélodies à la Erkin Koray et un tempo à la Squid.
Depuis 2019, ces trois musiciens qui aiment se faire observateurs du monde qui les entoure, transmettent leurs obsessions pour les riffs qui tracent, les sons de wah wah à n’en plus finir et leur volonté de plonger l’auditeur dans leur narration : une musique globale et immersive qui ne vous lâche pas.
En album comme en live, même credo : un set inarrêtable qui s’enchaîne sans interruption en prenant soin d’éviter tout le blabla superflu de « zikos » en manque de légitimité et de story telling dont tout le monde se fout; seulement des nappes de Moog vrombissantes qui vous font passer d’un titre à un autre comme on traverserait un tube interdimensionnel sous acide.
